Aelionians are not immune to extraplanetary diseases. The virus that would give a Vird only a minor cold can claim hundreds of lives, and any delay in vaccination can cause an epidemic. The fact that the pathogens constantly mutate only adds to the danger. Over the last few years, diseases have killed as many as the monsters have, and have brought dozens of species to the brink of extinction.

That was the reason for the leading medical centers together with institutes of virology and xenobiology to begin development of a scientific medical initiative. They send specially assigned groups to the infected areas, where they will collect data on the symptoms of the diseases, collect samples of biological materials and capture some disease carriers to study them more closely later. By using the collected data, scientists of Aelinar can create the panacea—a multi-purpose vaccine that will make Aelionians immune to most of the extraplanetary infections. Acting on the directive of the Council of Gods, the cyberticians from the Research Center have developed a special robot: assistant companion named Ellie. She’s immune to all kinds of diseases, and her dedicated software and the built-in biolab allows on-site biomaterial processing and submitting analysis results to Aelinar. This will eliminate the necessity of transporting of biologically hazardous containers. Additionally, the Research Center has developed and tested a special biohazard suit.

The Gods and immortals of Aelion are also contributing to the effort. Their loyal adepts brave the infected areas and quarantined zones to fight microscopic invasion creatures—alien bacteria and viruses—on their own.
