Emerald Stream

A beautiful green light shone in Aelion's sky several years ago, caused by falling stars. People at the time observed the unusual phenomenon with interest, named it the Emerald Stream and considered it harmless, for small celestial bodies usually burn up in the upper atmosphere and do not fly near the surface of the planet. However, part of the Emerald Stream did reach Aelion. What reached the planet from the depths of space looked like large egg-shaped stones of a beautiful shimmering emerald colour. Many inhabitants took the stones home as souvenirs.

The celestial stones became adornments for fireplaces, paperweights and door stops. They served their new masters faithfully until a mysterious thief began to methodically steal them from the homes of careless owners.

This news did not trouble the minds of the people of Aelion for long, for the worry was replaced by another: The Xenobiological Threat Neutralization Agency had discovered new Phytonide varieties! The enemy has struck a sinister blow and the situation must be dealt with.
