The time has come to wrap-up our Skyforge Year in Review by diving into some of Skyforge’s more group based content we revealed in 2014, PvP and Invasions! If you haven’t done so already, be sure to check out part one, two and three of our Year in Review to see what reveals you may have missed in 2014.
During 2014, we revealed one of Skyforge’s front and center end-game activities — Invasions! Once players have worked towards unlocking their divine god form, they’ll be able to join together in an effort to push back the seemingly never-ending alien invasions which plague the planet’s surface. These events, which are instigated by enemy gods, require players to fight through hordes of invading monsters found in the most distant corners of the universe.
As players utilize their god forms and work together to beat back the invading army, they’ll soon find themselves onboard the alien ship - facing off against the avatar of a hostile god responsible for the current assault on Aelion. For their valiant efforts, we revealed how players will be rewarded with rare and unique rewards, while their actions continue to have a lasting impact across the entire server.
For players looking for challenges outside of traditional PvE, 2014 presented an early look at just some of Skyforge’s upcoming PvP modes. PvP in Skyforge offers players the opportunity to test their mettle against other similarly skilled players and be rewarded with unique trophies, additional perks, and exclusive equipment. What’s more, we revealed how players can choose to progress their characters equally in either PvE or PvP without being forced to play content they don’t enjoy.
In total, we showcased five different PvP modes across several diverse maps for players to compete in. These modes range from the straightforward Free-for-All found on the 6-man map Lugran Research Base to the complicated Esten Quarry, which pits two teams of 12 against each other in a Capture the Flag style game mode. Each map offers teams different sets of challenges to overcome as they work together to secure crucial objectives and achieve victory. In 2015, we’ll continue to release even more information on PvP in Skyforge, including detailing the large-scale Pantheon Wars, which pits guilds against one another in complex PvPvE-battles.
Overall, 2014 was an amazing year for both fans of Skyforge and the Skyforge team. Despite all these exciting reveals, we still have so much more to share with you before Skyforge’s official launch in 2015 and we could not be more eager to see your reactions. Your persistent enthusiasm and dedication continue to fuel our burning desires to create a truly enthralling MMO experience. We could not be more grateful for your passionate support.
From all of us here on the Skyforge team, thank you!
